1:08 a.m. Tuesday — George R. Curl, 21, of Connoquenessing Township was arrested for driving under the influence on Mercer Street. Police also cited Curl for driving on the wrong side of the road and not using his turn signals.Tuesday — Angela McCardle reported her daughter's bicycle was stolen between 8 and 11 p.m. Monday from the backyard of her North Chestnut Street home. The girl's Next bike is pink and black. It is valued at $65.

Tuesday — Police filed one criminal and two traffic charges against Michelle Lynn Dipner, 35, of Slippery Rock following an investigation prompted by a car fire last week at Moraine Pointe Plaza.Police and firefighters got the fire call at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 24 and found flames coming from under the hood of a 1988 Pontiac Sunfire in the middle lane of the PNCBank drive-thru entrance.Crews knocked down the fire long enough to allow police to get the car in neutral and push it out of the drive-thru to prevent flames from spreading to the bank's overhang.Police were able to identify Dipner as the driver of the car; however, she initially gave officers a bogus name when they questioned her at the scene.Dipner is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities, driving with a suspended license-DUIrelated, and not carrying her driver's license.

Tuesday — Police filed impaired driving and drug charges against Emily F. McCormick, 21, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, more than a month after officers were called for a reported fight in the parking lot of a Route 8 convenience store.Officers got to the store just after 9:30 p.m. Aug. 25 and found McCormick and three others near a car. Police said all four were acting suspicious.Police later determined McCormick was the driver. She appeared to be under the influence and was given a field sobriety test, which she failed, according to court documents.The defendant was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. The test, documents said, later revealed the presence of drugs. Officers also found suspected heroin, empty stamps and syringes.McCormick is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.Tuesday — Police charged Jaime L. Montgomery, 32, of Ellwood City for driving without a mandatory ignition interlock device, stemming from an August traffic stop on Route 8 in front of the Trader Horn store.Montgomery was pulled over about 11 p.m. Aug. 30 as part of a sobriety checkpoint operation. Officers determined he was driving a car without the court-ordered ignition prevention device.Ignition interlock machines require an alcohol-free breath sample before the vehicle can start and they also require random clean samples during a vehicle's operation to guard against drivers who may try to cheat the device with another individual's breath.

4:30 p.m. Monday — Iian Thomas Elliot, 39, of Prospect was arrested for allegedly assaulting Jamie Elliot, no age given, during an argument at her Bear Creek Road home in Prospect. Elliot is charged with two counts of simple assault, harassment and disorderly; he is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.Monday — Several large auger bits and gas well drilling bits, worth a combined $1,300, were stolen from a storage building on West Sarver Road in Clinton Township. The stolen property, owned by the Reimer Gas Co. of Sarver, was taken between August and Monday.
