Esther Vera Blair

Esther Vera Blair, 75, of Slippery Rock, Scott Township, Lawrence County, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday at her home.

Born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, March 24, 1933, she was the daughter of Robert M. Glunt and Nellie Ethel Haus Glunt.

She married John Richard "Dick" Blair, Aug. 23, 1950.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Blair, along with her husband, owned and managed a family farm.

Mrs. Blair was a member of the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, Rodney N. Blair and wife, Beverly, of Slippery Rock, Charles R. Blair and wife, Kay, of Reading, W.Va., Michael A. Blair and friend, Mary Lou Ehrenberg, of New Castle and Brian P. Blair and wife, Janice, of Wampum; a daughter: Darla M. McCandless and husband, Robert, of Slippery Rock; and two brothers, Robert H. Glunt and wife, Elizabeth, of Mercer and H. Glenn Glunt and wife, Alice, of Greenville. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Teresa and Becky, Mark and Samantha, Jason and Justin,Kaetlyn, Kimber and Cody; three step-grandchildren, Ashley, Bobby and Betty Jo; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Carlotte Inglima and Eleanor Kellogg.

<B>BLAIR </B>— Visitation for Esther Vera Blair, who died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, 620 Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, where the service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the South Plain Grove Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, 620 Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
