Ernest R. Cowley Jr.

Ernest Robinson Cowley Jr., 92, of Trinity Living Center in Grove City died at 3 p.m. Monday at the center.

Born in New Hampshire, June 7, 1916, he was the son of Ernest Robinson Cowley Sr. and Ida Mae (Booth) Cowley.

He married Jennie Szeszko, April 21, 1935. She died July 6, 2008.

He had been a greeter at the County Market in Grove City. Prior to that, he had worked for Publix in Georgia and before that had worked at Nickles Bakery as a route salesman.

He graduated from the Shenango School District.

He had worked with the Gideons. He enjoyed gardening and loved people. He loved to work and worked until he was 91.

He was a member of the Mt. Chestnut Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, Ga.; and he attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Grove City.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Lee Gregory of Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, John Robinson; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Gregory; his stepmother, Annie Cowley; and a sister, Gladys Aiken.

<B>COWLEY </B>— Visitation for Ernest Robinson Cowley Jr., who died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Peterson, of the Fredonia United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery; Lawrence County.
