Kenneth Eugene Hankey, 75, of Lick Hill died suddenly after complications from a fall Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Butler, the son of the late Harry W. Hankey and the late Mary E. Sanderson Hankey.

He attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

He was a member of the Butler Elks Lodge 170, where he was in the pool league; and a lifetime member of the Butler Moose 64 and the Lick Hill and East Butler Volunteer Fire departments. He also belonged to the Happy Hunters Club of Fenelton and the Butler City Hunting & Fishing Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards, going on bus tours and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

He retired as a foreman in the melt shop at Butler Armco after 42 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Peggy (Ramsey) Hankey, who he married May 29, 1952; two daughters, Connie E. Hankey of Butler and Christine Scott and her husband, Bill, of Butler; two granddaughters, Jennifer Jones and her husband, Curtis, of Slippery Rock and Michelle Scott and Adam Walker of Butler; a great-grandson, Landon Jones of Slippery Rock; a sister, Verda Mae Connor and her husband, Peter, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Robert and William Hankey; and a sister, Betty Joy McGee, all from Butler.

<B>HANKEY </B>— Friends of Kenneth Eugene Hankey, who died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. A blessing service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.The Butler Elks 170 will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Information is also available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
