John James and Shirley Morgus of Johnson City, N.Y., celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family party July 4 at their daughter's home in Media. They also took a two-week cruise of the Hawaiian Islands.

Morgus married the former Shirley McGrady on May 24, 1958, at the St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.

They have five children, Cheryl Barrett of Media, Karen Pietruniak of Cranberry Township, John Morgus of Lancaster, N.Y.; Lisa Tatusko of Boulder, Colo., and Jim Morgus of Johnson City.

They also have 12 grandchildren.

Morgus is retired from the Federal Aviation Agency. He is a 35-year member of the West Corners Lions Club, for which he was a past president and chairman of several projects, a member of Johnson City American Legion and a member of the Endicott Elks Club.

Mrs. Morgus is retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She is a 27-year charter member of the West Corners Lioness Club, for which she was the president twice and currently serves as secretary. She has also chaired many projects.
