Charles B. Dreshman

Charles B. "Chick" Dreshman, 89, of Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, formerly of Eau Claire and Pittsburgh, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the home following an extended illness.

Born in Homestead, Allegheny County, June 29, 1919, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Eva L. Blank Dreshman.

He was a Lutheran.

A veteran of World War II, he was a sergeant with the Sixth Infantry, U.S. Army.

In the machine shop business all his working life, he was a partner and later president of R.H. Dreshman and Sons of Homestead and Whitaker.

He was a member of the Homestead Lodge 582 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the Syria Temple.

Surviving are three children, Diane C. (Ray) Lachowicz and Charles R. and Henry L. Dreshman; four grandchildren; one brother, Ronald P. Dreshman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Abrogast Dreshman, who he married May 2, 1946. She passed away June 4, 2001. He also was preceded in death by two brothers.

<B>DRESHMAN</B> — Friends of Charles B. "Chick" Dreshman, who died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Main Street/Route 38, Eau Claire. The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be Monday morning at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 4300 Main St., Munhall, PA 15120.Information also is available at www.buzardfuneralhomes.com.
