Elmer E. Wulff
Elmer E. Wulff, 88, of Butler died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 21, 1920, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Anthony and Roma Schawalder Wulff.
Elmer was a World War II veteran of the Army, having served in the Combat Engineers during the Normandy Invasion through the Battle of the Bulge. He earned five bronze stars and a silver star during his service.
Mr. Wulff worked for a year at the Bantam Car Co. in Butler and then moved to Pullman Standard, where he worked for 13 years. He then worked at Butler Armco in the wheelworks department and later in the silicon department. He was employed at Armco for nearly 28 years and retired in 1982. Elmer was also the caretaker at St. Peter's Cemetery in Butler from 1970 through 1977.
Elmer was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He was also a member of VFW Post 249 in Butler.
His wife, Dorothy M. Grant Wulff, who he married Aug. 7, 1946, survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William (Marlene) Welter, Mrs. Thomas (Lorraine) Barclay, and Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Lesnik, all of Butler; two sons and their wives, Ronald J. Wulff Sr. and Sylvia Wulff of Parker and Paul E. and Cindy Wulff of Butler; and two brothers, Fred and Donald Wulff, both of Butler. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
A brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
<B>WULFF </B>— Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Butler, with the Rev. Pierre Falkenhan, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.The Women's Council of St. Peter's Parish will recite the rosary at 9:05 a.m. Saturday at the church.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
