William McKissick Jr.

McKissick

William J. McKissick Jr., 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully Sunday in his sleep.

Bill was born July 19, 1936, in Butler, the only son of Erma and William McKissick.

He proudly served his country in Vietnam during 1967 and 1968. After retiring from the Air Force in 1974, Bill joined the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department, where he served until 1981. After leaving the sheriff's department, Bill went to work for the security department of Bell Helicopter until 1990, at which time he left to become a self-employed contractor.

His hobbies included baseball, poker, hunting and fishing; and he was an avid reader.

Surviving are his wife, Valda McKissick; daughters, Debbie Denoma and her special friend, Jim Hays, Tracy Switzer and her husband, Bryan, Sharon Whitley and her husband, Brack; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

<B>MCKISSICK </B>— A memorial service for William J. McKissick Jr., who died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, was held today at the Greenwood Chapel. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Greenwood Funeral Home</B>, Fort Worth, Texas.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
