Catherine Agostino
Catherine Agostino, 87, of Slippery Rock died Monday at the Grove City Medical Center.
Born in Wick, Slippery Rock Township, Dec. 25, 1920, she was the daughter of Natale Agostino and Mary Josephine Tartaglione Agostino.
She retired in 1981 as a cook working out of Weisenfluh Hall at Slippery Rock University following 38½ years of service. She enjoyed baking.
She was a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sisters, Teresa DeCola of Slippery Rock, Clara and her husband, James, Leone of Slippery Rock, Roseanna Tackett of Slippery Rock and Mary Ann Nill of Slippery Rock; two brothers, Dominick Agostino of Slippery Rock and Frank and his wife, Geraldine, Agostino of Slippery Rock; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Nicholas; three brothers-in-law, Mario DeCola, Edward C. Nill and Garland C. Tackett.
<B>AGOSTINO</B> — Friends of Catherine Agostino, who died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, Franklin Street, Slippery Rock, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Pamela Gardner, church pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
