Rita and Burton Bloom

Burton and Rita Bloom of Evans City celebrated 50 years of marriage with a luncheon with family and friends Aug. 24 at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Ellwood City.

Bloom married the former Rita Jocuns on Aug. 23, 1958, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.

They have three children, Wayne Bloom of Bloomington, Ind.; Ramona White of Harmony and Renee Bloom of Butler.

They also have seven grandchildren.

Bloom is a retired teamster truck driver who worked for New Penn Motor Express. He is a member of the Evans City Sportsman's Club and served in the U.S.Marine Corps from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean conflict.

Mrs. Bloom is retired as the cafeteria manager of the Evans City School.
