Tiffany Arroyo, formerly of Cabot, passed the North Carolina State Bar Exam. She recently received her juris doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law.Arroyo is a 2005 Graduate of Penn State University and a graduate of Knoch High School Class of 2001. She lives in Charlotte, N.C.

Nathan Capello of Slippery Rock received a $3,816 scholarship from the Ann M. Kendlehart Scholarship Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. The award will be applied to his tuition for the 2008-09 school year.He is a senior accounting and financial economics major.Capello is a son of Robert and Karla Capello of Slippery Rock and a graduate of Slippery Rock High School.———

Samantha Harpel of Summit Township recently won first place in the 9 to 12 age category of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau safety poster drawing and slogan contest by the Butler County Farm Bureau.She was selected as a prize winner in the state competition and her poster was displayed at State College in August.Harpel is a fifth grade student at Butler Catholic School.
