Thursday — Keith Joseph Buckley, 31, of Slippery Rock was arrested on a warrant but not before trying to run from police who spotted him on West Cunningham Street.The chase, a police report said, continued for several blocks, including onto Wagner Avenue and West New Castle Street. An officer during the chase fired a Taser that hit the suspect in the back.Buckley was caught in the backyard of a West North Street home. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond, stemming from the warrant. He also faces a new charge for resisting arrest.12:55 a.m. Wednesday — Timothy S. Kerr, 39, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving after a short police chase.The chase began after officers were called for a report of someone in a truck racing his engine and squealing tires on North McKean Street. When police tried to stop the truck, the driver, later identified as Kerr, sped off and traveled up North Main Street hill.The suspect eventually pulled over at the Lumar Village apartments in the city. Kerr is charged with driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and without valid inspection, driving an unregistered vehicle and careless driving.Tuesday — Police filed hit-and-run and other charges against Peter Spadola, 51, of Slippery Rock in connection with a two-vehicle crash about 2 p.m. Saturday on Mercer Street.Spadola was driving a truck that collided with a car driven by Dorothy Plant, 40, of Butler, according to a police report. The suspect drove off, but police stopped him a short time later.Spadola is charged with causing an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.Tuesday — A burglar between Saturday and Tuesday smashed out a window and broke into the Bridal Treasures Outlet on North Main Street. The unknown suspect pried open a cash register and stole a small amount of money, a police report said.
Wednesday — Three catalytic converters were reportedly stolen off vehicles at McDeavitt Auto on Route 8. The thefts occurred within the past two weeks.Wednesday — Two taillamps were removed overnight from a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup truck at the Auto Zone on New Castle Road.
8:30 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Oleg Kameristov, 34, of St. Francis, Wis., and a pickup truck driven by Robert L. Davis, 39, of Grove City collided on Route 173 in Wolf Creek Township. Kameristov was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio, for moderate injuries. Police said he was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
