Baptiste 90th birthday
Joseph Baptiste of Butler will celebrate his 90th birthday Saturday with a family dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Baptiste was born Sept. 3, 1918 in Summit Township. He married the former Janice Snyder Johnston on July 14, 1956.
He has four children, James Johnston of Butler, William Johnston of Encinitas, Calif.; Andrew Baptiste of Columbus, Ohio, and Ruth Anne Baptiste of Butler. A son, Thomas Baptiste, is deceased.
He also has three granddaughters and one step-grandson.
He is retired from Pullman Standard, which became Trinity Industries.
Mr. Baptiste belongs to the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the A.A.R.P. and the Woodmen of the World. He works in Knights of Columbus community dinners, was an usher for his church for 47 years, ran cameras for the televised Mass for 20 years and enjoys hunting and fishing.
