The Smiths in 1958

Everett and Mary Emma Smith of Cherry Township celebrated 50 years of marriage with a reception at the West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church.

Smith married the former Mary Emma Fleeger on Aug. 16, 1958, at the Muddy Creek United Presbyterian Church.

They have three children, Christine Leone of Marion Township, Carl Smith of Butler and Craig Smith of Slippery Rock.

They also have five grandchildren.

Smith is retired from American Glass Research, where he was the vice president of manufacturing.

Mrs. Smith is a homemaker.

The couple enjoy traveling and have traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
