Dolores M. McDonald
Dolores M. McDonald of Butler Township died at 3:53 p.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.
Born in Butler, she was the daughter of John H. McDowell and Helen Gibson McDowell.
She was a homemaker and had been a teacher at the Bon Aire Elementary School.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, now known as Slippery Rock University. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State and National education associations, the Slippery Rock Alumni Association, the American Association of University Women, the Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education, the Tuesday Musical Club, the Business & Professional Club, A.A.R.P and the Friends of the Library.
Mrs. McDonald was active in many church choirs and vocal ensembles.
Surviving are her husband, Harold C. "Bus" McDonald, whom she married June 30, 1956; a daughter, Rebecca S. McDonald of Manning, Iowa; a brother, John G. "Jack" McDowell of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>MCDONALD </B>— Friends of Dolores M. McDonald, who died Saturday, July 12, 2008, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>. Services will follow at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Burrell, her church pastor, officiating.
