Joseph L. Keyes, 96, formerly of New Kensington, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

Born June 26, 1912, in Tarentum, he lived in the Concordia Lutheran Home for the past five years. He was the son of the late Joseph Klucinec and Anna Lekar Klucinec.

Joseph served during World War II as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Air Corps in Belgium and France.

After the war, he was a watch maker for Crown Jewelers in New Kensington. He retired in 1977 after 30 years of service as a lab technician for Gulf Research.

Joseph attended the University of Pittsburgh and enjoyed dancing, reading, playing the organ, golf and particularly, photography, taking pictures of sunsets.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church, New Kensington.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Olga Martin Keyes of Cabot; three sons, Dennis (Margaret "Marg") Keyes of Karns City, William (Mary Davis) Keyes of St. Paul, Minn., and Phillip (Judy Bikoff) Keyes of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Claire (Joel Arronson) Keyes of Pittsburgh and Denise Garrott (Robert Lesko)of Cowansville; one brother, the Rev. Ben Klucinec of Panama City; and four grandchildren; Jason Harenski, Hallie Harenski, Christine Garrott and Michael Keyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul Klucinec and Clement Klucinec.

<B>KEYES</B> — Family and friends of Joseph L. Keyes, who died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, will be received 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the <B>John K. Krupa Funeral Home</B>, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington.There will be a blessing service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. TheChristian Funeral Mass will be at noon in St. Joseph Church, New Kensington. The Rev.
