J. Glen Surrena, 92, formerly of Porter Road, Harrisville, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Living Center, Grove City.

Born Sept. 9, 1915, in Harrisville, he was the son of John H. Surrena and Iva E. McFadden Surrena.

He was a laborer for Montgomery Lumber of Grove City and retired in 1990. He was also employed by Shawgo Construction of Grove City and was self employed as a coal miner for 36 years.

He formerly attended Mt. Oliver Church in Marion Township. He was a member of the NRA.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp.

He is survived by his children, Marian E. Rihel of Harrisville, James R. Surrena and his wife, Janet, of Missoula, Mont., David L. Surrena and his wife, Barb, of Grove City, Peggy J. Richmond and her husband, Bruce, of Harrisville, AnnHutchinson and her husband, Lewis, of Harrisville, Butch F. Surrena and his wife, Helen, of Harrisville, and Harold E. Surrena and his wife, Sherry, of Harrisville; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, L. Hope Van Dyke Surrena, who he married Oct. 26., 1938, and who died Jan. 27, 1967; and his second wife, O. Mae Norris Surrena, who he marred April 11, 1969 and who died Oct. 25, 1999.

<B>SURRENA</B> — Friends of J. Glen Surrena, who died Thursday, July 10, 2008, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott L. Fleming of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church of America officiating. Burial will be in Mt.
