11:08 a.m. Friday — A 17-year-old Butler boy who police did not identify was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and firearms carried by a minor after a scuffle led to a gun being discharged in a residence on Third Avenue. Joshua McCaslin, 19, of Renfrew was charged with harassment in the same incident. No one was injured and police recovered a .40 caliber handgun from the house.12:45 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Glenna Yellenik, 59, of Butler struck Raymond Shafer, 45, of Karns City as he was walking across South Jackson Street near West Wayne Street. Shafer suffered a minor injury.
12:35 a.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Brad Lauer, 19, of Cabot collided with several trees and a parked car owned by Genevieve Rachwal of Lyndora along Pittsburgh Road. Lauer was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and he was cited for careless driving.Monday — Several residents along Main Street in Lyndora reported rocks throw at their windows, siding on their homes being damaged and damage to a parked vehicle. 3:10 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Aaron R. Waddell, 25, of Butler crashed and rolled on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Waddell was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.Wednesday — Someone stole scrap metal from RJ Jones, Inc. on Centerville Pike in Slippery Rock between July 16 and Wednesday. Any one with information should call police at 724-284-8100.9 a.m. July 26 — Someone stole four cement catch basins belonging to Lutheran Senior Life of Zelienople from Crown Point Development in Center Township. Any one with information should call police at 724-284-8100.July 26 — Someone entered the home of Patricia Felsing, 45, of Sarver along Franklin Drive in Winfield Township and stole a printer and a sewing machine valued at $275. Any one with information should call police at 724-284-8100.11:45 a.m. July 25 — Matthew Josephs, 28, of Butler; Amanda Mellish, 20, of East Butler, and Jamie Wright, 31, of Zelienople were each charged with theft, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and controlled substance, device, drug and cosmetic act violations after a neighbor allegedly saw them stealing scrap metal from Scrap, Salvage and Surplus on McShane Road in Clearfield Township.
7 a.m. Friday — Someone stole personal checks belonging to Ruth Ezzolo, 52, of Grove City from her property on West Main Street in Pine Township between 12:01 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday.
2 p.m. Thursday — Someone pried open the door of a locked trailer belonging to Glenn Claypool of Worthington while it was parked on Sisterville Road in North Buffalo Township, stealing a TV and several knives between 3 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Thursday. Any one with information should call police at 724-543-4360.12:39 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Cheryl Dayen, 48, of North Apollo and a vehicle driven by William Walker, 53, of Sarver collided on Route 28 in Blawnox. No injuries were reported.4 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Richard J. Oleniacz, 50, of New Kensington crashed into a concrete bridge barrier on Route 28 near Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township. Oleniacz was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.May 8 — Howard E. Garvin, Jr., 41, of Kittanning was charged with a vehicle code violation after a 1987 Ford Escort reported stolen May 5 was discovered at Garvin Transport Salvage and Sales on Slatelick Cadogan Road in North Buffalo Township. Garvin had allegedly failed to properly document the intake of the vehicle as scrap.
