Krista Halin recently became a member of The National Scholars Honor Society. The honors organization is dedicated to encouraging, recognizing and rewarding high academic achievement.Halin is a senior at Clarion University, majoring in speech pathology. She is the daughter of George and Karol Halin of Butler and a 2005 graduate of Butler High School.———

Brittany Rakarich of Butler was accepted at Gannon University where she will begin classes this fall. She plans to major in physician assistant studies.Rakarich is a graduate of Butler High school and the daughter of Tracy Rakarich.———

Amber Riesmeyer was accepted to the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. She will begin pharmacy studies this fall.Riesmeyer is the daughter of Norman Riesmeyer of Renfrew and Billie Ann Kerr of Butler.
