William C. Jack, 94, of Oakland Avenue died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

Born in Butler, May 14, 1914, he was the son of Lewis Earl and Goldie Undine Stepp Jack.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired with the rank of commander from the Naval Reserve.

Mr. Jack retired in 1976 from the metallurgical department Armco-Butler Works.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 117, the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, Caravan 14 of Butler and the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy E. Witt and Patricia E. Jack, both of Stoneboro; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

His wife, Laura E. Jack, died June 6, 1999. He also was preceded in death by a son, William H.Jack; a sister; and a brother.
