Bill Lucas' letter to the editor regarding State Representative Daryl Metcalfe states that "Metcalfe is free to speak his mind on religion or any other matter." I agree that Metcalfe is free to speak his mind on religion but when he states things that are clearly not in line with constitutional protections of freedom of religion, it renders him unfit to hold the office of state representative. It is not just "the fears of atheists" that are causing alarm over Metcalfe's statements, which have resulted in his being awarded the Christian Solider award by the KKK-inspired White Christian Nation, but the fears of all his constituents that the entire 12th district holds his views.
