2 a.m. Wednesday — Police arrested Richard William Russell, 42, of Butler for allegedly breaking into a home on Morton Avenue.Russell is accused of ransacking the home after he learned that the man who lives there was on a date with the suspect's ex-girlfriend, according to a police report. Russell denied the crime.He was arraigned on charges of burglary, trespass, criminal mischief, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.2:47 p.m. Sunday — Douglas J. Wetzel, 23, of Fenelton is accused of ramming his vehicle into another vehicle driven by Kasey Snyder of Butler in an apparent case of domestic violence on Mercer Street.Wetzel is charged with simple assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

8:51 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Brian McGonigle, 34, of Butler and a van driven by Stephanie Kearse, 50, of Arlington, Va., collided at North Main Street Extension and FilbertRoad. Kearse was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for moderate injuries.

June 20 — Police filed charges against Cheryl Scott, 49, and Aaron JamesScott, 19, of Valencia stemming from a suspected underage drinking party Nov. 3 at Cheryl Scott's home.Cheryl Scott is charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, child endangerment and corruption of minors. Aaron Scott, who allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old girl, is charged with corruption of minors.

3:45 a.m. June 25 — Dennis J. Baird, 49, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility influence vehicle struck a road sign at Currie and Cooper roads in Worth Township.

June 20 — Sonya Renee Haag, 31, of Harrisville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 80 in Paint Township.

4:30 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Charles Belfield, 31, of Tarentum crashed into the Buffalo bridge on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Belfield was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Monday — Police filed charges against two Butler County men for allegedly stealing 10 pieces of metal guardrail from the Bradys Bend Corp. on Route 68 in Bradys Bend on June 19.Scott Crooks, 45, of Karns City is charged with theft in the case. Robert L. Hartel, 40, of Petrolia is charged with receiving stolen property.3:36 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Levi Smeltzer, 18, of Creekside, Indiana County, struck a guardrail near the Buffalo bridge on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Smeltzer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
