Helen Beckett, a resident of The Arbors in Valencia, a nursing facility operated by St. Barnabas Health Care Systems, on Monday offers a carrot to Tripod, a miniature horse who was at the home as part of pet therapy and the recreation program. Residents of The Arbors were visited by two miniature horses owned by recreation assistant Kim Jarvis. The horses are small enough to travel in a minivan. Pet therapy visits are an important part of the recreation program, according to Kathleen Brenneman, St. Barnabas spokeswoman.
