I have some concerns that I'd hope that the School District would look at in the following years. I had my son graduate last night and have 4 more children who attend this school. Thankfully the graduation was outside last night but if it had rained, we would have only had 2 tickets. I'm divorced, I asked the school if there could be 4 tickets instead of just 2, so that way both sets of parents could attend. The school told me that only the biological parents should be attending if it was held inside. It's 2008, a lot of families are divorced now..not something we are proud of but it does happen. It's unfair that those parents can't see their children graduate in person.

Why don't they find a place that is bigger to hold the graduations so they can let both sets of parents to see their children graduate? Also, if they found a place that was big enough WITH AIR, it would have saved all of us from being so miserable sitting in the hot sun. The graduates were sweating and hot. Their loved ones were just as miserable.

Due to the class being so huge, they weren't even able to go up and get their diplomas handed to them in person. With all the time that they took for having all the names read by homeroom, they could have actually read the names after they graduated and handed the diplomas out. If they would have cut out some of the speeches or cut them shorter, the class would have been able to be recognized the way they deserved. Instead we had to sit there and listen to a woman who was president of the school board talk about her graduating son, her husband, her church and everything she's done. Who does the honor go to? The school board? The president of the school board? Her family? No, it goes to the graduates...I'm not saying the school officials shouldn't have been recognized.

They also had the graduates so far away, it was hard to take pictures.

I'm not blaming the graduation committee. I believe they did a job within their limits. I'm blaming the school administration and the rules. We pay taxes we should be able to give our graduates a nice graduation- when it's that hot out, you'd think they'd have a place big enough to fit all of the students and parents with AIR in it, even if it's not at the school.

Other states make arrangements to have their ceremonies for their graduates so they can actually HONOR them by handing them a diploma and have those who are attending, relaxed, not sweating so bad in the heat.
