Helen Kinder
Helen Kinder, 77, of Slippery Rock died Tuesday at Sunnyview Home.
Born March 20, 1931, in Barkeyville, she was the daughter of George Otis Kinder and Iva Marie Beach Kinder.
She was education coordinator for Head Start in Franklin from 1980 to 1991.
She then joined and served in the Peace Corps for 2½ years in Thailand.
She then worked for more than six years as a member of the Governing Board of Olmstead Manor, a Methodist Church Retreat Center in Ludlow.
She was a 1952 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania
She was a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church. She was an avid hiker, loved the outdoors and traveled to six continents.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Passauer, and her partner, Kathy Glerum, of Slippery Rock; two sons: John D. and his wife, Nancy, Passauer of Ashburn, Va., and Paul G. Passauer and his partner, Amy Aarsen of Gretna, Neb.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jessica Passauer, Ashley Passauer, Katy Curliss, Joshua, Leah, Amy and David Passauer; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Avonell Kinder Greene Pontius.
<B>KINDER</B>— Services for Helen Kinder, who died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, Franklin Street, Slippery Rock. The Rev.
