Almeda Jane Kamerer
Almeda Jane Kamerer, 83, of Sugar Creek Rest, Worthington, formerly of Kaylor and Chicora, died at 8:18 p.m. Saturday at Sugar Creek Rest after a period of failing health.
Born in Kaylor, Armstrong County, Aug. 4, 1924, she was a daughter of Charlie Chester and Ruth Iva Barnhart Wiles.
She was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church in Bradys Bend and a member of the 60 Plus of Chicora. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Chicora for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Kamerer had worked in the housekeeping department at Butler Memorial Hospital for more than 13 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Rita R. Bly and her husband, Leonard, of Chicora; a son, Kenneth Eugene Kamerer of Chicora; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Lanterman of Kittanning Pike, Chicora; and several nieces and nephews.
She married Eugene Kamerer Jan. 29, 1943, near Chicora. He died April 21, 1983. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Evans, who died Jan. 11, 2006; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Chester Wiles.
<B>KAMERER</B> — Friends of Almeda Jane Kamerer, who died Saturday, April 5, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral home</B>, Petrolia. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Reformed Church, Bradys Bend, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Sapp officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Chicora.
