Butler School District students won prizes at the Miss Butler County/America 2008 pageant held recently at the Succop Theatre.

Haley Hoffman, 8, daughter of K.C. and Lisa Hoffman of Butler, was named Little Miss Butler County/America 2008.

Jessica Bishop, 9, was first runner up.

Lauren Russo, 9, was second runner up.•

Amelia Bishop, 13, daughter of Scott and Lori Bishop of Butler, was named Junior Miss Butler County/America 2008.

Lydia Anthony, 13, was first runner up.—-The 14th annual

Bowl For Kids' Sake, sponsored by NexTier Bank and its employees, raised $45,000 for

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County, a program of the Butler County YMCA. The event was held April 13.—-The winners at the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club April 24 were:First:

Nick Tredennick.—-

Nick Monday of Butler, coordinator of St. Vincent de Paul Food Cupboard, was awarded the Mary Reiger-Chislaghi Friend of the Poor Award at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank Campaign to End Hunger April 25 at the Churchhill Valley Country Club in Pittsburgh. Monday spends much of his time volunteering for the food cupboard.
