<B>Laura Ellis</B>, Earlham College sophomore and daughter of Carolyn Ellis of Harmony, performed in Earlham's Gospel Festival April 13 in Goddard Auditorium in Richmond, Ind.—-

<B>Jess Kummer</B> of Butler won first place in Drug Awareness Poster Contest for Butler fourth graders. The contest was sponsored by the Butler Lions Club in conjunction with PA District 14N Lions Clubs.—-<B>Amanda Wilbert</B> of Butler, senior at Edinboro University, was named an Outstanding Senior by Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Edinboro University.—-

<B>Zachary Kupec</B> of Butler has been accepted for admission to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2008 semester.

—-<B>Jeff Mitch</B>, a Butler High School senior, was a finalist in the 2008 Pennsylvania Pro-Life Oratory Contest sponsored by the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation. He<B> </B>finished second in the original speech competition. He is the son of Raymond and Carol Mitch. Students delivered a five to seven minute talk on abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or stem cell research.
