George Boggs of Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II recently celebrated his 85th birthday.

Boggs was born April 3, 1923. He and his wife Mary Frances Burtner were married May 20, 1946, at Thorn Creek Methodist Church.

They have four children, Beverly Sasse of Butler; Barton Boggs of Omaha, Neb.; Brenda Hall of Richmond, Va.; and Beth Jones of Hooper, Colo. He also has 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boggs worked as a missionary pilot and mechanic for Mission Aviation Fellowship until he retired in 1990. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He and his wife have lived in more than 10 areas of the world, including the Philippines, New Guinea and Indonesia.

He is an avid photographer and is a member of Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
