The Wees in 1948

Don and Velma Wee of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family dinner Monday at Monterey Bay Restaurant in Monroeville. They also will take a two-week trip to Hawaii.

Wee married the former Velma Phillips on March 26, 1948, at Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley, Iowa.

They have three children, James Wee of New Orleans, La.; Joe Wee of Portland, Ore.; and John Wee of Parker.

The also have three grandchildren.

Wee retired in 1982 from his job as an accountant for Ford Motor Company.Mrs. Wee is a homemaker and seamstress.The Wees enjoy hiking, biking, sewing and woodworking. They belong to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
