Wertz

Alice M. Wertz, 91, of Harmony, formerly of Mars and Eustis, Fla., died Wednesday afternoon at Evergreen Nursing Home in Harmony.

Born Oct. 28, 1916, in Alliance, Ohio, she was the daughter of Olin B. and Leila M. Stowt Card.

She worked as a secretary for an insurance company in Florida.

She was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Ella Dean Bible Class. She also was a member of the Mars AARP, the Akron Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Surviving are two sons, Robert W. Wertz Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Clark E. Wertz and his wife, Linda, of New Sewickley Township; grandchildren, Brian Wertz and his wife, Danielle, and Greg Wertz and his wife, Julie; three great-grandchildren, Madalynn and Oliva Wertz and Ayden Snyder; and a niece, Jackie Beehtol of Gainesville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Wertz Sr., whom she married Dec. 24, 1936, and who died Dec. 7, 1981; and by a sister, Rae C. Powers.
