Sara L. 'Sally' McGee
Sara L. "Sally" McGee, 75, of Cabot died Monday at Saxony Health Care Center after an illness.
Born March 7, 1932, she was a daughter of Clayton O. and Lena Snyder Shields.
Sally was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. Before her illness, she was active in the Christian Mothers, helped with Catechism classes, and assisted with the yearly fall festival at her church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, solving jigsaw puzzles and working with ceramics.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Lynn) Harbison of Butler, three sons, Ken McGee of Cabot, Bill (Cathy) McGee of Connoquenessing, and Dan (Beverly) McGee of Butler; two daughters-in-law, Patty McGee of Cabot and Diana McGee of Butler; a brother, John Shields of East Butler; five sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Gallaher of Butler, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Sarvey of Prospect, Mrs. Corwyn (Betty Jane) Cadwallader of Butler, Mrs. Earl (Lena "Gert") Sarvey of Meridian, and Mrs. Claude "Pete" (JoAnn "Joey") Filges of Butler; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Robert M. "Bob" McGee, who she married Aug. 16, 1952, preceded her in death June 2, 1993. A son, Mike McGee, also preceded her on March 2, 2007.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
<B>McGee </B>— Friends of Sara L. "Sally" McGee, who died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot with the Rev. John Getsy O.F.M. Cap. officiating.Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Coylesville.The bereavement committee of St. Joseph's Parish will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to conduct a Parish Vigil Service.
