Betty J. Fennell Oesterling, 85, formerly of Portman Road, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born July 28, 1922, in Kaylor, she was the daughter of Lank and Frieda Myers Fennell.

Mrs. Oesterling was a homemaker. She was a former 4-H leader and a former member of the TOPS Club

She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Lois) McCall of Chicora; two sons and their wives, Donald W. and Gayle Oesterling and Raymond G. and Judy Oesterling Sr., all of Butler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Claire Fennell of Butler and Robert Fennell of Toledo, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Gene R. Oesterling, who she married Oct. 5, 1940, died Feb. 14, 2004. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

<B>OESTERLING</B> — Friends of Betty J. Fennell Oesterling, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, officiating.
