Ilse A. Knauer, 80, formerly of Herman, died Dec. 20 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

Born Jan. 24, 1927, in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of Theodore and Anna Horsch Pape.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Herman and the Christian Mothers of St. Mary.

Surviving are a son, Raymond R. Knauer of Converse, Texas; two grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.

Her husband, Regis G. Knauer, died June 10, 2004.
