Furka 60th anniversary
Joseph and Margaret Furka of Lyndora will celebrate 60 years of marriage Thursday. Afamily dinner is planned in their honor.
The former Margaret Hancheck married Furka on Feb. 7, 1948, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.
They have six children, Cecilia George, Joseph Furka, Diana McCandless, Debbie Peitz, Theresa Czyzyk and Veronica Forcht, all of Butler. A son, David Furka, is deceased.
They also have 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Furka is retired from Armco, where he was employed as a steel worker for 37 years. He belongs to the American Legion Post 778, The Joseph T. Black VFW Post 249 and The Happy Hunters Club.
Mrs. Furka is a homemaker.
She and her husband also belong to the Retread Motorcycle Group and the Days Inn Swimming Group and St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church.
