Shannon Gallagher, a sophomore at Butler High School. Sponsored by Post 117, she advanced to the District 26 contest held Thursday.Second place went to Mars High School junior

Colten McDeavitt, a junior at Slippery Rock High School, earned third place. He was sponsored by Post 417.Fourth place went to

Jessica Esh of Ephrata has been named the winner of the second annual James D. Regal Aviation Scholarship Award.The $1,000 scholarship is awarded in memory of Slippery Rock High School graduate James Regal, who was killed in a plane crash in 2005.Information about the scholarship is available through the Aviation Department at the Community College of Beaver County.
