Evelyn I. Davis

Evelyn I. Davis, 86, died Wednesday morning at Duff's Personal Care Home, New Castle.

Born July 24, 1921, in Harlansburg, she was a daughter of Waldo and Nancy (Emery) Currie.

Mrs. Davis had been a waitress at New Castle Drug for years.

She was a former member of the WCTU in Worth Township and the Worth Grange and a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Worth Township.

Surviving are two sons, Norman Davis of Enon Valley and William A. Davis of Portersville; a daughter, Donna Davis of New Castle; a sister, Betty Knobloch of Beaver Falls; 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Clair A. Davis Sr., died Jan. 21, 1987. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Clair A. Jr. and Donald Davis; and two brothers, Gaylord and Russell Currie.

<B>DAVIS</B> — Friends of Evelyn I. Davis, who died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home</B>, 926 Cunningham Ave., New Castle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Meling of Zion Baptist Church and the Rev. Marsha Parrish of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church will officiate.
