Wilbert and Louise Mowry of Penn Township celebrated 65 years of marriage recently with a family gathering Nov. 11 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries' Lund Care Center in Jefferson Township.

The former Louise Dietrich married Mowry Nov. 11, 1942, at the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Dorseyville.

They have four children: Bert Mowry and Carl Mowry, both of Penn Township; Bob Mowry of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; and Barry Mowry of Oklahoma City.

They also have eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mowry worked as a farmer and farm machinery salesman. He also worked with Winters and Fleming road construction and served as PennDOT's superintendent of highways for Butler County.

Mrs. Mowry is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Middlesex Presbyterian Church.
