Lewis 60th anniversary
Richard and Irene Lewis of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner in September at the Oneida Valley Fire Department. They also celebrated with a Mass Nov. 25 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
The former Irene Vargo married Lewis on Nov. 25, 1947, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
They have four children, Shirley Lewis, Jane Lewis and Daniel Lewis, all of Butler, and Patricia Lumley of East Butler. A son, Richard Lewis, is deceased.
They also have six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Lewis is retired from Castle Rubber. He belongs to the VFW Post 249 and is a life member of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department.He also belongs to St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, along with his wife, who belongs to the ladies guild there.Mrs. Lewis is retired from the Spaide Shirt Factory. She also belongs to the Oneida Valley Ladies Auxiliary.
