Elmer L. Sutton
Elmer L. Sutton, 83, of Butler died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 23, 1924, in Euclid, he was the son of Floyd and June (Johnson) Sutton.
He was a member of Unionville Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Sutton served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 in the European and Pacific theaters as a seaman 1st class armed guard.
He had been employed by Miller/McKnight Coal Co., Tack and Sons and the Eagal Coal Co., and he retired from Local 66 of Pittsburgh Operating Engineers. He also owned and operated Sutton Mobile Home Park in Euclid.
Surviving are his wife, Grace E. Sutton, who he married April 7, 1947; two daughters, Mrs. James R. (Sandra) Kniess of Butler and Mrs. John (Bonnie) Foster of Middleburg, Fla.; a son and his wife, Thomas L. and Patricia Sutton of Butler; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Layton, and a brother-in-law, William Layton, both of Butler.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
<B>Sutton</B> — Friends of Elmer L. Sutton, who died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Unionville Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Center Township, with the Rev. Matthew Kail officiating.
