Genevieve Nancy Waldroup
Genevieve Nancy Waldroup, 94, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center after a period of failing health. She and her husband had lived on Church Street in Karns City for years.
Born in Bruin, Nov. 25, 1912, she was the daughter of Harry Lee and Goldie Patience Luce Say.
She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and the Sawyer Bible Class of the church.
Mrs. Waldroup had attended Bruin schools and cared for older people in their own homes for a number of years.
Surviving are three sons, Harry Wayne Waldroup and his wife, Emma, of Karns City, Charles Eugene Waldroup and his wife, Marjorie, of Chicora and Donald Mark Waldroup and his wife, Cynthia "Cindy," of East Brady; a daughter, Mary A. Stowe and her husband, Charles, of Eau Claire; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Wayne C. Waldroup, whom she married Sept. 16, 1933, in Franklin, died April 12, 1969. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Flemming Say, who died March 4, 1990, and Palmer Eugene Say, who died March 11, 1989.
<B>WALDROUP</B> — Friends of Genevieve Nancy Waldroup, who died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Bright, pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church, Emlenton, officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society, Gideons International, 2819 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16103.
