Russell Jr. and Opal Garris

Russell Jr. and Opal Garris of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a family dinner at the home of their daughter.

The former Opal Shay married Garris Nov. 16, 1957, at Perryville Methodist Church in Parker.

They have three children, Larry Garris of Pittsburgh, Kevin Garris of Arnold and Valerie Graham of Butler.

They also have five grandchildren.

Garris is retired from the Pittsburgh Press, where he worked as a printer. He belongs to Meridian Veterans Club, American Legion Post 117, MORAClub and IOOF Lodge.

Mrs. Garris is retired from Butler School District. She enjoys playing cards and watching musicals.The couple belongs to Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church. They are also members of Tanglewood Senior Center in Chicora.
