First if all, if I hired a babysitter that acted as badly as alot of these teachers, I would fire the sitter. Second of all, how many jobs can we get that assures tenure after 3 years? Teachers are not what they proclaim to be. Yes we may have a few goods ones, but they are retiring. Unfortunately we deal through this with our children. No teachers are not babysitters, Babysitters work. Teachers are bigger cry babies than their students. Some of our children don't stand a chance with these nasty teachers we cannot get rid of!!!!! No teachers, you certainly are not viewed as babysitters. Actually, you may find this shocking, but parents are obligated under the state law to send their children to these wonderful schools. I have had actual babysitters with a more professional attitude than teachers. No way are you viewed as babysitters, unless of course the teacher views themself as one and that would explain the situation.
