Zelienople Historical Society recently presented its 2007 Angel Award to

Mary Cameron for her work in promoting interest in the area's history and raising funds to preserve the Passavant and Buhl houses.Apast president of the historical society, Cameron organized the society's History Club, which meets twice monthly, does historical research, sponsors field trips and hosts guest speakers.In 2006, she organized the historical society's capital campaign.For information about the historical society, call 724-452-9457.———

<B>Walter Henricks II</B>, formerly of Butler, was recently inducted into the Upper St. Clair High School Academic Hall of Fame.Now retired, Henricks served as an associate principal at Upper St. Clair for 26 years. During that time, he was twice recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Program.Henricks is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Henricks Sr., formerly of Center Township.———<B>The Saxonburg Fire Company</B> has announced the winners of its annual Halloween parade.For the age group of infants to kindergarten, first place went to <B>Autumn Ohl</B> of Saxonburg. Second and third place went to <B>Jadeyn Snow</B> of Saxonburg and <B>Dominic Lynch</B> of Sarver, respectively.<B>Lacey Becker</B> of Saxonburg took first place in the grade 1 to 3 category. Second place went to <B>Hallie Kildo</B> of Butler and third place was presented to <B>Casey Landini </B>of Saxonburg.Among students in grades 4 to 6, <B>Paul Kasunic</B> of Butler took first place, <B>Alexis Thrower</B> of Saxonburg took second place and <B>Micah Keller</B> of Cabot took third place.In the category for students in grades 7 to 12, first place went to <B>Sammy Ohl</B> and second place went to <B>Molly Freehling</B>, both of Saxonburg. <B>Sarah Kasunic</B> of Butler took third place.In the group costume category, first place went to <B>Maddie Anesin</B> and <B>Nathan Anesin</B> of Saxonburg. Second place was awarded to <B>Gary Kane</B> and <B>Hunter Kane</B> of Sarver and third place went to Saxonburg residents <B>Gabriel McKernan, Keavy Callwood</B> and <B>Gracie Callwood</B>.———<B>Jessica Buckley</B>, daughter of Bill and Nancy Smith of Petrolia, recently won the Preserve America History Teacher of the Year award from the Department of Defense Education.She is a fifth-grade teacher at Bitz Intermediate School, a part of Camp Lejeune Dependent Schools.Buckley received a collection of books for the school library, a plaque for the school and a cash award. She is now a finalist for the National History Teacher of the Year award, which will be announced later this fall.———Winners at the <B>Butler Duplicate Bridge Club</B> game held Oct. 25 were <B>Art Aronson </B>and <B>Tom Richards</B>. <B>Lorraine Worsley </B>and <B>Bob Freemon </B>tied for second with <B>Don Toy </B>and <B>Clem Rosenberger</B>.
