Penelope C. 'Penny' Beacom

Penelope C. "Penny" Beacom, 63, of Frazer Township died Thursday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center after a year long illness.

She was born on Oct. 23, 1943, in New Kensington. She was the daughter of George A. Sr. and Betty C. Bell Spiering.

She graduated from New Kensington High School in 1961.

She was the owner and operator of P.C. Beacom, Inc., in Frazer and a homemaker.

Mrs. Beacom was a member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Brackenridge.

She enjoyed her family, children, and grandchildren and also arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel R. Beacom Sr., of 43 years; three sons, Samuel R. (Lisa) Beacom Jr., of West Deer Township, S. Mark (Terry) Beacom of Saxonburg, and Michael P. (Lisa) Beacom of Middlesex Township; seven grandchildren, Devin and Garrett Beacom of Middlesex Township, Mark Jr. and Celeste Beacom of Saxonburg, and Taylor, Katelyn, and Sam Beacom III of West Deer Township; three brothers George A. (Judy) Spiering Jr., Gregory (Cheryl) Spiering and Geoffery (Phyllis) Spiering, all of Lower Burrell; and a sister, Rebecca (Robert) Solee of Portland, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

<B>BeacoM</B> — Friends of Penelope C."Penny" Beacom, who died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the <B>Duster Funeral Home</B>, Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at noon on Sunday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Brackenridge. The Rev. Dr. Stephen M. Smalley will officiate.
