During its recent awards ceremony, the Butler Lions Club honored member

Samuel Oesterling with a 45-year Monarch Award. Throughout his time as a member, Oesterling has served in several positions at the district and state level.Awards for 40 years of membership were presented to

George Bonnett and

Gary Zinman.

Bill Hetrick received a 35-year Monarch Award.Awards for perfect attendance were presented to 17 members, including Bonnett, who was honored for 40 years of perfect attendance.The Award for Lion of the Year was presented to

Steve Bonnett, the current club president.

———Pittsburgh CLO has announced performers for its 2007-2008 <B>Pittsburgh CLO Mini Stars</B> program.The youth have participated in numerous productions for Pittsburgh CLO, the Pittsburgh Opera, the Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater and the Pittsburgh Public Theater.Created in 1981, the CLO Mini Stars perform revues of Broadway's most memorable moments for private and public events throughout the region.The group is now preparing its annual holiday show to be performed through Dec. 31.Local participants include <B>Hannah Lamberto</B> of Cranberry Township, a student at Seneca Valley Intermediate High School, and <B>Alex Manalo</B> of Valencia, a student at Mars Middle School.

———Butler County Community College's Art and Literary Magazine, <B>FACETS</B>, was awarded first place with special merit for the seventh consecutive year by the American Scholastic Press Association.The publication also was recognized for the best art section.This recognizes special and outstanding content and design by a panel of judges, including educators and experienced faculty advisers for scholastic publications.

———Winners at the <B>Butler Duplicate Bridge Club</B> game held Oct. 18 were <B>Clem Rosenberger </B>and <B>Don Toy</B>. Coming in second place were <B>Tom Richards </B>and <B>John Kristufek</B>.
