The American Legion Riders of Post 117 and Bantam Marine Detachment 243 held a Toys for Tots Benefit Ride Oct. 6 to collect toys and monetary donations.
The event, which began at the Butler Commons in Butler Township, attracted 87 participants on 62 motorcycles. Riders joined Santa and Mrs. Claus on the ride which made stops in Harrisville and at the Zelienople American Legion before ending at the Butler American Legion, where a dance was held.
The two events netted $1,400 in monetary donations and about 100 donated toys that will be given to children in Butler County. The Legion is continuing to accept donations.

The <B>Kiwanis Club of Butler</B> will install new officers during its Tuesday meeting.Officers include club president <B>William White</B>, vice president <B>Agnes Rauschenberger</B>, secretary <B>Ruth Crotzer</B> and treasurer <B>Anthony Maletta</B>.The Kiwanis Club meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at the Butler YWCA. Community service projects conducted by the club benefit organizations such as the Butler Public Library, Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.———
<B>Care Chiropractic</B>, sponsor of Kids Day America, recently presented a check for $3,466.89 check to <B>Lifesteps</B>.The funds were raised during the 13th Annual Kids Day America event, held recently at the Butler Farm Show Grounds.———
Winners at the <B>Butler Duplicate Bridge Club</B> game held Oct. 4 were <B>Jan Horwitz</B> and <B>Joanne Zambroski</B>. Coming in second place were <B>Don Toy </B>and <B>Clem Rosenberger</B>. <B>Patsy Bachman</B> and <B>Helen Brydon</B> finished third.
