Rozella Fay Shoemaker Boggs
Rozella Fay Shoemaker Boggs, 79, of New Castle went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 4:56 p.m. Monday at Jameson Hospital North, New Castle.
Born Sept. 1, 1927, in Deanville, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Paul A. and Grace H. Hetrick Shoemaker.
She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, homemaker and baby sitter. She enjoyed bowling.
Mrs. Boggs graduated from school in Deanville and was an alumna of the Practical Bible Training School.
She was a member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in New Castle, where she belonged to the Covenant Seekers and served as the nursery superintendent for 28 years. She also served on the Child Evangelical Fellowship Board.
Surviving are her husband, Jack W. Boggs, whom she married Aug. 18, 1950; five children, Nancy (Fred) Cox of Evansville, Ind., Karen (Joe) Behm of Graysville, Wendy (Brian) Gorgacz of Edinburg, Lawrence County, Roy (Laurie) Boggs of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Bruce (Judy) Boggs of New Castle; a brother, Bert Shoemaker of Clarion; and two sisters, Janet Kunselman of Distant, Armstrong County, and Connie Keller of Upper Marlboro, Md.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Charles Justin Behm, Gregory Daniel Cox, Andrew Scott Behm, Kayli Nichole, Sarah Elizabeth, Rachel Ann and Hannah Lynn Boggs, Cole Ryan Gorgacz, Brian Charles Boggs and Madalyn Faith and Mallory Grace Gorgacz.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Henry, Louise Aaron and Lawaive Metz, and a brother, Howard Shoemaker
<B>BOGGS </B>— Friends of Rozella Fay Shoemaker Boggs, who died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>R. Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, Wilmington Road, New Castle. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Yates and the Rev. John Yergan officiating.
