The Penn Township Woman's Club has named
Ruth Wood its president for the 2007-08 club year.Other officers include first vice president

Grace Weber.Wood has selected to continue the theme "Growth Through Community Service" during her time in office.Aclub member since 1983, Wood has served as recording secretary, corresponding secretary, membership chair and conservation chair. She has also served on several committees.Wood is employed at Wexford House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She resides in Penn Township with her husband, Gordon. They have two daughters and three grandsons.The club's main fundraiser is an annual fashion show, which funds scholarships for Knoch High School students from Penn Township.The club also sponsors the Nixon Socialites senior group and hosts an annual party for the Association of Retarded Citizens.For membership information, contact Catherine Williams at 724-452-3192.
———<B>St. Andrew Orthodox Church, Sisterhood of the Altar</B>, has announced <B>Ed Davis </B>of Butler as the winner of its raffle held during the recent Butler Fall Festival.Davis chose a prize of $500 in gasoline.
———<B>Christ Community United Methodist Church</B> of Butler Township recently received a $4,200 grant to increase its visibility in the Butler area.The funds, given by the Igniting Ministries Campaign of the United Methodist Church, have been matched by the church to promote the church's campaign, "Find Your Path, Share the Journey."For information about the church, visit www.ChristCommunityUMC.org.
———<B>Shawna Crissman</B> of Butler recently received a Certified Medical Assistant credential from the American Association of Medical Assistants.Agraduate of Butler County Community College, she is employed by Primary Care Associates of Butler.
———<B>The Marilyn E. Kane Modeling School and Agency</B> recently participated in Mannequin Modeling for MDA to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.The group raised a total of $3,153 through pledges, donations and the sale of celebrity cookbooks.The top fundraiser was <B>Kourtnie Regan</B>, 11, daughter of Kim Regan of Seven Fields and Kevin Regan of Cranberry Township. She raised $865 for the event. Regan presented the check live on TV during the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon.
