Butler County's great daily newspaper

Amesh Adalja

I agree with Jake, why is it that you think we shouldn't express our beliefs religious or otherwise? After all that is what this country was founded on and if you don't believe me check your history. We elect goverment officials to represent us based on whether we agree with their views and agenda's. If we all agreed then there wouldn't be different politcal parties running for office. If I don't believe in abortion and it's against my religious beliefs why should I have to pay tax dollars to support a program I absolutely disagree with? Let me propose this; try supporting the thousands of couples in this country who suffer from infertility for sometimes many, many years because they can't afford the outragious cost of treatment. Why not sponsor a program that would allow those couples to have a child if they so desire if you're going to pay for someone else to be irresponsible. If one is old enough to make the decision to have sex after all then they should be mature and responsible enough to pay for birth control in order to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. For those of you who disagree with tax dollars funding of Family Planning there is a way your voice can be heard. Sign the petition to stop the funding of this program, contact your congressmen and let them know you do not support this agenda. This is how goverment works for the people. I'm not pushing my views on anyone else, I'm merely expressing my own. I am sure there will be those who agree and those who disagree and that's okay. We do live in America where we have the right to do so.
